spring die is a very usefull tool to help troubleshoot crimp monitor problems.
The idea is to replace the crimping die with the spring die and make a teach-in.
If the crimp monitor runs perfectly with the spring die one must conclude
the problems being experienced are related to the crimping die. The spring
die will produce very consistent repeatable force curves. Standard models
are available for "mini die" applicators, 5.346 inch shut height
with standard quick change base plate, and "Toyo type" applicators. |
